Stanbridge College Alumni are eligible to take this 51-hour IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification training course, which prepares nurses to effectively deliver care to patients requiring infusion therapies and/or blood specimen collection for diagnostics.
Stanbridge College Alumni are eligible to take a one-day Respiratory Ventilator Competency Course to develop a better understanding of respiratory, ventilator, tracheostomy equipment and procedures.
Between Nurse.com and PBS, we found some interesting factoids on blood transfusion. Of course, the Nurse.com factoids came from Susan Baimbridge, RN, CCRN-CSC, ADCNS-BD. She’s from St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, and recently spoke about blood conservation during cardiac surgery.
Stress is a tough reality for nurses and nursing students. Stanbridge College students volunteered at Someone Cares Soup Kitchen, preparing and serving a warm meal to homeless people in Orange County. Stanbridge College students, faculty and staff volunteered with Habitat for Humanity to build a home in South Orange County for an underprivileged family. They helped with light construction, painting and debris cleanup. Stanbridge nursing students participated in Orange County’s Free Clinics in the spring and fall of 2010. At the event, volunteers were able to bring their classroom skills to the public by administering free flu shots. Students learned how to work with patients, prepare and administer flu shots and take care of patient administration forms.
