The American Nurses Association pledges their support to Japan Disaster

The American Nurses Association pledges their support to Japan Disaster The American Nurses Association has pledged its support to the people of Japan, including nurses, in the wake of a series of disasters that have affected the country since late last week.

“Our hearts go out to the Japanese people during this time of terrible tragedy,” said ANA President Karen A. Daley, RN, PhD, MPH, FAAN. “We stand ready to support those on the ground, and to help direct U.S. nurses who wish to offer assistance now and in the coming months.”

For now, according to the ANA, the most effective response is financial support. ANA encourages members and concerned health professionals to support the nurses of Japan with donations through the American Nurses Foundation’s Japan Disaster Relief Fund at http://bit.ly/f6vNXO.

The ANF is the charitable and philanthropic arm of the ANA, supporting the association’s work to promote the welfare and well-being of nurses. The money donated will support the Japanese Nursing Association in its assistance of the country’s nurses who have been affected by these disasters.
