Volunteer 8/24 to Make a Difference for the Homeless and Hungry
Stanbridge College REACH – Beyond the Classroom™ invites you to volunteer to help the homeless on August 24th in Costa Mesa.
Did you know that 1 in 6 Americans live on incomes that put them at risk for hunger? During summer months this number is even higher. Furthermore, families are at risk of sunstroke, heatstroke, and dehydration living on the streets or in their cars. Water fountains are more remote than one might think and many shelters force those in need to leave and stay outside during the day.
This is why supporting our community’s homeless population is important year-round. Join us this month to support our Orange County homeless community:
Sorting and Distributing Food at the Free Pantry Organization
Help sort and distribute free groceries and household items to those in need at the Free Pantry Organization in Costa Mesa. The Free Pantry Organization is also in need of donations of jars of peanut butter and sunscreen to offer to the needy. If you are able to donate, you may drop donations off to Samantha Mellinger in room 202.

Prepare and Serve a Warm Meal to the Homeless
Help prepare and serve a warm meal to over 250 homeless and low-income people and families in Costa Mesa.

Time: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (2-3 Volunteers needed to arrive at 1:00 p.m. to help prepare meal)
