Occupational therapists use adaptive equipment and therapeutic strategies to help individuals participate more independently in everyday activities. Shadowing an occupational therapist can give prospective students opportunities to observe how practitioners assess patient needs, select interventions, and adapt tasks or environments to support function and independence.
