Stanbridge University is excited to highlight Jillian Savoy, a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program who is now entering the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN-Ed) program. Jillian’s journey has been transformative as she experienced hands-on learning under the guidance of dedicated faculty in a supportive environment. As she pursues her MSN-Ed to enhance her skills and step into leadership roles in healthcare, Jillian’s story illustrates the profound impact of education, mentorship, and personal connections on her nursing career.
Inspiration to Pursue Nursing
Jillian’s decision to become a nurse was influenced by her rich experiences in healthcare. “I started in the medical field as a caregiver and have climbed every single rung of the ladder to CNA, LVN, and RN,” she shares. Her commitment to lifelong learning inspired her to pursue further education through the BSN program at Stanbridge University.
Experience in the BSN Program
“My experience in the BSN program at Stanbridge University was transformative and enriching. The curriculum was comprehensive, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills that prepared me well for the nursing profession. The faculty members were exceptionally supportive and always willing to provide guidance and mentorship,” she says. Beyond academics, the relationships she built with her classmates were also a highlight for her. “These are connections that you don’t forge every day and they are highly valuable to me,” she adds.
Preparing for the NCLEX
“The NCLEX prep at Stanbridge University was outstanding,” Jillian says. “The program provided extensive resources, including practice exams, review sessions, and one-on-one tutoring. The instructors were deeply invested in our success, offering personalized feedback and strategies to improve our performance,” she shares. “Our class had a 100% pass rate because of the support we received.”
Choosing to Pursue an MSN-Ed
Jillian decided to pursue her MSN-Ed to continue her nursing path. “I am a little older than most of my peers, and I wanted to gain the skills I might need if I ever have to leave bedside nursing. Another important factor for me is the teaching aspect of this degree,” she explains. With a passion for education, Jillian is currently a substitute clinical instructor at Stanbridge University. “I believe we can all use a hand up, and I want to help as many people as possible,” she says.
Future Aspirations
Looking ahead, Jillian is eager to take on new roles. “My decision to pursue an MSN-Ed was driven by my desire to further enhance my nursing skills and take on leadership roles within the healthcare field,” she says.
