Environmental Preservation Movement: New Growth in Newport Beach
Recently, Newport Beach trees were removed due to unstable conditions. While the city mourns the loss of its landmark trees, local students aim to bring new greenery! Stanbridge volunteers planted nearly 300 trees and plants at Harbor View Nature Park.
“These plantings will serve to beautify the park and provide habitat for birds and other wildlife,” stated the City of Newport Beach representative. “This event reinforces the already existing sense of community and pride in the City’s unique amenities.”
As an institution, Stanbridge University looks forward to further partnership with the City of Newport Beach. Above all, Stanbridge hopes to make an impact locally and globally for the greater good.
Other Stanbridge University events across Southern California include tree-planting in Irvine and Santa Ana.
Environmental Preservation Movement: Rooting for Change
As a direct response to recent wildfire devastation, Stanbridge University created the Root for Change Tree Planting Initiative. Consequently, Stanbridge seeks to enhance the environment through water catchment. Furthermore, the institution will continue planting trees across Southern California, building a better environment for all as a result.
Shadetree Partnership Nursery has partnered with Stanbridge University to provide native plants at no cost for the entire initiative. This helps promote community growth. Shadetree Partnership Inc. is a volunteer-based organization that promotes more livable communities through the planting and stewardship of shade trees and other nursery stock.
