2017 Faculty of the Year Award Given to Steve Ryan

 

Stanbridge University recognizes the hard work and dedication Mr. Ryan contributes to this educational institution with the 2017 Faculty of the Year Award.

Mr. Steve Ryan is the current Lead Faculty Mentor, Writing Center Manager, Faculty Advisor for the Stanbridge Vocational Nursing Student Association, and is a major contributor to student leadership development on campus. Mr. Ryan has been a member of the Stanbridge family since August 2013, but has been a major part of the greater publishing, educational, and editorial community for over 25 years.

He holds an M.A. in English and started his lifelong love affair with writing and editing with a job as a journalist for the New York Post in the 1980s, for nearly a decade. His work in publishing led him to Los Angeles, where he excelled at editing with an L.A.-based publishing firm. He gained invaluable experience managing a multimillion dollar company, developing new programs for other companies, writing and editing.

He mentors and teaches at a number of colleges and universities, including Laurus College, San Diego University for Integrative Studies, Thomas Edison State University, University of Phoenix, and of course, Stanbridge University.

He has co-authored a book on global communication strategies for the workplace called Professional Communication in the Modern Workplace, and contributed to a book called the Art of Thinking: A Guide to Critical and Creative Thought. He was awarded Leader of the Quarter by the National Notary Association in 2009, Distinguished Faculty of the Year by University of Phoenix in 2013, American Public University System Appreciation Award, and now, Stanbridge University is proud to award him the 2017 Faculty of the Year Award.
