Volunteer 6/22 to Help the Summertime Surge in OC Homelessness

Stanbridge College REACH – Beyond the Classroom invites you to volunteer to help the homeless on June 22nd in Costa Mesa.

Did you know that the summer months are toughest for homeless children? While most kids are able to go to summer camp, water parks, or theme parks, many homeless kids are left alone to fend for themselves. Without support from their schools, they are unable to receive free or discounted meals at breakfast or lunch and are at risk without a comfortable and safe place to stay during the day. Parent’s struggle to afford day care, let alone being able to spend time with their children when trying to make ends meet.

This is one more reason why supporting our community’s homeless population is important all year round. Join us this month to support our Orange County homeless community:

Sorting and Distributing Food at the Free Pantry Organization

Help sort and distribute free groceries and household items to those in need at the Free Pantry Organization in Costa Mesa. The Free Pantry Organization is also in need of donations of jars of peanut butter to offer to the needy. If you are able to donate, you may drop donations off to Victoria Sauer in room 202.

Prepare and Serve a Warm Meal to the Homeless

Help prepare and serve a warm meal to over 250 homeless and low-income people and families in Costa Mesa.

Time: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (2-3 Volunteers needed to arrive at 1:00 p.m. to help prepare meal)
