Therapy Students Seek Career Advice at Stanbridge Career Fair

Earlier this year, students of the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) and Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) programs at Stanbridge College connected with Southern California Therapy employers at the Therapy Programs Career Fair.

The employers, ranging from Rehabilitation Centers, Acute Medical Centers, Skilled Nursing Facilities and School Systems, spoke to the students about what they are looking for in an ideal employee. These included:

  • Responsibility
  • Being a team member
  • Showing motivation and taking initiative
  • Creativity
  • Likes to play
  • Wanting to learn and being taught

The employers were excited to speak with Stanbridge College students in the OTA and PTA programs. Many of the employers stated that the Stanbridge students who worked with them in the clinical portion of their programs had a very solid foundation of skills learned at Stanbridge College. These students took initiative, were flexible and had good time management skills.
