Help Stanbridge College Send Christmas Care Packages to Overseas Marines
Stanbridge College is asking for your help in providing a little Christmas cheer to our troops currently serving overseas. On Friday, November 18th we need volunteers to help pack over 100 Christmas stocking care packages. Stanbridge College is partnering with Words of Comfort, Hope and Promise to send these packages to the 5th Marine Headquarters, recently deployed in Afghanistan, as well as several other battalions far from home this holiday season.
Date: Friday, November 18th
Time: 2pm – 5pm
Location: Student Lounge, Stanbridge College
Registration: Sign up today online at the REACH upcoming events website
Volunteers will help sort and pack stockings with:
– Candy Canes
– Assorted cookies, crackers and nuts snack packs
– Men’s socks
– Chewing gum
– Cereal bars
– Fruit snacks
– Starbucks Via packets
If you are able, we are also accepting new and unwrapped donations of the above items and/or letters and Christmas Cards addressed to “Dear Armed Forces” to add a personal touch to each stocking.
The holiday season can be a difficult time for our soldiers. As many of our troops do not receive any letters or care packages from home during their deployment, WE are the only family they have! Let’s work together to send the spirit of Christmas to those who really need it!
