Hospice Care Alumni Workshop

Hospice Care Alumni Workshop

Hospice is a philosophy of care that provides comprehensive compassionate care for patients to have an environment of loving, supportive care either in the comfort of their own homes or facilities with trained personnel. Nearly half of the people who are ill with a diagnosis that is not curable are served by a hospice program in the United States.

Many services are provided to the patients and families who are specially trained to take care of all of the needs of people with terminal illness. A multidisciplinary team approach includes nurses, doctors, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, dieticians and bereavement counselors. Comfort measures and pain management, psychological and social, spiritual and religious needs and well asĀ  cultural issues will be addressed to better care for the patients during the end of life period.

Education about hospice and its benefits will broaden your ability to secure Hospice Job placement. Trends indicate that more and more families are placing loved ones in the care of trained hospice professionals. Many Home Health Organizations have a hospice component and need nurses who understand the needs of the patients and families.

Your attendance will give you a certificate for 3 hours of Continuing Education from an approved Board of Registered Nursing provider for your portfolio.
