Nursing Students Fight Flu Season for Over 390 People with Orange County Health Department

In October, Stanbridge College nursing students partnered with the Orange County Health Department to help fight cold and flu season. Students administered flu shots to the public at a drive-through flu shot clinic in Laguna Woods. The students administered over 390 vaccinations during the event.

Jay Pabari, Vocational Nursing (VN) student at Stanbridge College and volunteer at the event stated, “Stanbridge advises the students to do a lot of volunteer work and they really support this kind of activity. It feels like we helped a lot of people. [The people] were grateful for what we were doing. It proves why we picked the right profession in being a nurse.”

Stanbridge College encourages students to use their classroom skills to give back to their local community through it’s REACH Beyond the Classroom community service initiative. Students in the Vocational Nursing Diploma program consistently work with local healthcare partners to offer medical care services to the public in free clinics.
